Mark This Day

Well folks, I did it. I pulled the plug on social media.

No Facebook.

No Instagram.

No Threads.

It's just you, me, and this blog now.

I'm curious.

How many of you have also dropped out of the social media maelstrom?

  1. Good for you! I quit Facebook in 2017, and have never looked back. I have struggled with Instagram . . . because I there are some things I really like there (things that actually bring me joy and inspire me), but I hate the doomscrolling addiction and I hate supporting Meta. In early January, I bought a BRICK device for my phone and it has been SUPER helpful. I "brick" myself from Instagram most of the day, and only "allow" myself (up to) an hour of Instagram. I've found it works so well, I only find my self looking at Instagram every couple of days now. (I also "brick" myself from Pinterest, which was a real time-suck for me.)

  2. I've been off Facebook for a while, and I barely used it for a long time before then. I'm still on IG, but it's mostly yarn and dogs that I'm there for. Honestly, Ravelry is a much bigger time suck for me than social media, and luckily there's no algorithm messing with me there!
